First Trip Around the Sun


This week I had the pleasure of taking photographs at the first birthday party for one of my first newborn clients. From swaddles to sneakers - the last year has gone by so quickly! Her party had the cutest theme - first trip around the sun - full of stars, space, and a bright purple galaxy smash cake.


One of my favorite part about cake smash sessions is seeing how different babies react when the cake first comes out. Sometimes they dig right in and other times babies require some encouragement from loved ones before diving in.


She was uninterested in eating her beautiful cake. Instead - she found pleasure in tipping it over off the cake stand and caking her jeans. It made the most spectacular mess. Forever thankful for paper backdrops for making cleanup a breeze! Enjoy a few snapshots from her big day.
